Former World Number One Carlos Alcaraz Set To Return Today In Buenos Aires

The world number two Carlos Alcaraz of Spain, last seen in November in Paris, France is set to make his return to the professional men's tennis tour today on the clay at Buenos Aires, Argentina at the Argentina Open.
Alcaraz, the year end 2022 number one, rose to the top ranking on September 12th after taking singles titles in Rio de Janeiro, Miami, Barcelona, Madrid and at the US Open.
However the 19 year old Alcaraz struggled during the indoor winter season and was forced to take a break
from the tour following an abdominal tear.

Alcaraz, the youngest number one male player ever, missed last month's Australian Open in Melbourne
due to an abdominal tear.

championships, the Davis Cup finals as well as last month's Australian Open in Melbourne.
Following his victory in Melbourne, the former world number one Novak Djokovic of Serbia reclaimed the top spot as Alcaraz fell to number two.
Alcaraz is an all-court tennis player known for his powerful forehand as well as his very effective dropshot.
Today in round two of the Argentina Open, the top seeded Alcaraz meets the unseeded, 57th ranked Laslo Djere of Serbia.
The 27 year old Djere and Alcaraz have not played each other previously.
Djere won his round one match Monday versus the veteran Fagio Fognini of Italy 6-4, 6-4 while Alcaraz reached round two via a round one bye.
